Build the habit of looking
Check the position of teammates, opponents and available space when you have the chance. Your picture of the game changes quickly, so keep updating it rather than relying on a single glance.
Move to help a teammate
Think about whether your position gives the player on the ball an option. Sometimes a small movement is enough to create a passing angle or open space for someone else.
Review a few moments
Use match footage to look at a small number of situations. Pause before receiving the ball and consider the options. Compare them with what happened, without judging the whole performance from one moment.
Talk with your coach
Ask what your team needs from your position. Better decisions come from understanding the role and the players around you as well as improving individual technique.
